Bill started his career in the real estate development industry when he worked with a large design build contractor for about 8 years where he was responsible for the design and obtaining any of the municipal approvals and zoning required for the shopping centres and office buildings to be built. He took those skills to work over the next years with two international real estate development companies in senior management positions where he was responsible for overseeing the development portfolio expansion program.
When the real estate market went into financial decline in the early 90’s, Bill started his own commercial development company, Melron Property Enterprises, which he still continues to own and manage.
One of the Board’s that Bill sat on in past years was the Bruyère Foundation which brought him in contact with Friend’s of Hospice when they partnered with Bruyère for fundraising support. It was this relationship which fostered Bill’s interest in hospice care, and the reason for his ongoing interest in wanting to help Hospice Care Ottawa.
