Valérie is the Senior Vice-President, Patient Care at Hôpital Montfort in Ottawa. Hôpital Montfort is Ontario’s Francophone Academic Hospital, offering exemplary person-centred care.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Ottawa, a Certificate in Administration from the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO), a graduate-level short program in Health and Social Services Management, and a Master’s in Public Administration with a management option from the École Nationale d’Administration Publique (ENAP). She has also participated in numerous trainings from the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA), she is a member of the Canadia College of Health Leadership (CCHL), holds a LEAN Green Belt certification, and has recently completed training and coaching sessions in anti-racism, diversity, equity and inclusion.
Valérie has served as the clinical director of acute care service, medicine, rehabilitation and therapeutic services. Also, she has been accountable for Critical Care services, including emergency services, intensive care unit, as well as patient flow.
Valérie has a particular interest in the importance of end-of-life palliative care and medical assistance in dying. She has experienced these realities both personally and professionally, which has deeply shaped her perspective. As a result, she is strongly committed to engaging with our community on these issues, as the value of compassionate care is truly close to her heart.
Beyond her career, she is a proud mom of three teens, passionate about reading, traveling, and cheering on her kids in every sport and competition they take on.
