Day Hospice

Our Day Hospice programs are designed for individuals living with a life-limiting illness, offering them a day out in a supportive and friendly environment. Our Nurses and trained volunteers provide care, camaraderie, a delicious meal and activities in a home-like environment for guests to enjoy a ‘day away’ and caregivers to receive a day a week of respite.

When possible transportation with a volunteer driver can be arranged to pick up guests in the morning and bring them home in the afternoon.  Everyone congregates in the comfortable living room for morning coffee, goodies, conversation and laughter. A nutritious lunch is included and enjoyed by everyone. The day is filled with an array of different activities including our art program, special guests, cards, music and therapies.

Hours: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays

Anyone can make a referral to any Day Hospice Program listed above as long as the person being referred meets these criteria:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be diagnosed with a life limiting illness

Note:  Our programs cannot support dementia or challenging behaviours

• Health Care Professionals – visit http://caredove.com/champlaincss – recommended to sign up once to access an abundance of community support in the area for your patients
