If you are interested in becoming a hospice volunteer, please fill out an application.

​ We strive to contact you within 30 days of receipt of your application or when volunteer opportunities become available in the role(s) you have indicated.

30 hours Hospice Palliative Care Core Volunteer Training is required for anyone working directly with clients and is offered each Spring and Fall. We welcome you to volunteer in another role while awaiting training.

Please note: Successful completion of the application process does not guarantee a volunteer placement with Hospice Care Ottawa

Priority will be given to applicants who:

• Have flexible availability
• Can commit to a regular weekly assignment for at least one year
• Speak a second language
• Are flexible as to the program in which they will volunteer
• Are existing volunteers who meet the criteria
• Volunteers must be 18 months past the death of a close loved one before attending training
