Stephen Whitehead

Stephen Whitehead is a retired senior partner and counsel with the Ottawa office of Fasken, a large Canadian and international law firm, where he practiced primarily in business and regulatory law relating to the communications industry.  Stephen was consistently recognized by independent international and national guides as a leading lawyer in telecommunications, media and technology.

Stephen was a volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society for more than ten years and last served as a Vice-Chair and member of the executive committee of the board of directors of the Ontario Division of the Society before he joined Hospice Care Ottawa as a director in September 2014. He currently serves as the Chair of the Hospice Care Ottawa board and as the Chair of its Governance Committee.  He also serves on other board committees.

Stephen has lived in Ottawa with his wife Karen since 1978. They have three adult children and three grandchildren.
