Hike for Hospice Care Ottawa 2023 raises $221,775!!!

Our Hike for Hospice took place on last Saturday June 3rd, and it was amazing. Thanks to our Hikers and their supporters, sponsors, donors and our extra special $50,000 matching donor, YOU have surpassed our goal. Congratulations!  

We had 135 people registered online and more came the day of with pledges, and others who couldn't make it have Hiked virtually. We had over 20 teams raising funds together and we want to give a special warm welcome and thank you to our new hikers and families.
 
For those who could share the day, it was so nice to see you. We had some opening announcements, which included 2 special plaque presentations - one for the donors to Hein House which will be hung at Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice and one for The May Court Club in honour of their 125th Anniversary and The Elizabeth Wing, which will be hung at May Court Hospice. We welcomed special guests, and had 3 M.P.P.s join us as well, then warm ups were led by Joseph Cull and the YellowTones. 

Following Hike participants had light refreshments and we made some fundraising announcements, honouring the 43 people who raised over $1,000 and the 14 of them who raised over $2,500 - and then we announced our top 3 individual fundraisers and our top 3 teams. We now have trophies that will get the top names for both individual and team added each year, and we'll display these throughout the year at our locations. 

We are so inspired by this community. Thank you for providing the gift of care and comfort to individuals and families who will need our care and compassion our volunteers and staff provide.
