Day Hospice Programs

Our Day Hospice programs are designed for clients living with a life-limiting illness, offering them a day out in a supportive and friendly environment.  Our Nurse and trained volunteers provide care and support in a home-like environment for you to have a 'day away' and give your caregiver a break.

Transportation with a volunteer driver can be arranged to pick up guests in the morning and bring them home in the afternoon.  Everyone congregates in the comfortable living room for morning coffee, goodies, conversation and laughter.  A hot lunch is included and enjoyed by everyone.  The day is filled with an array of different activities including our art program, special guests, cards, music and therapies.

Hours: 10:00-14:00, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays

Benefits include:
  • Weekly social interaction with peers
  • Variety of support therapies such as music, art, massage
  • Emotional support
  • Respite for caregivers
  • Weekly nurse assessments and communication with physicians as needed
  • Located at different locations across the city
- May Court Hospice, 114 Cameron Avenue, Ottawa (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
- Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice, 110 McCurdy Drive, Kanata (Tuesday, Wednesday)
- La Maison de l'Est (currently on hold)
