May Court Hospice - Old Ottawa South
​Hein House at Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice - Kanata
What You Will Be Doing: As part of our Residence Care Team you will be working as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team, volunteers and staff providing care to our residents according to their care plan, providing support and assistance to the resident and their families and/or caregivers and contributing to provide a home-like, peaceful environment.
 
We are looking for healthcare professionals who possess the following:
 
Availability
 
  • Ability to work Nights, Evenings & Weekends
  • Ability to commit to working 4 shifts/month minimum
 
Education
  • RN/RPN’s - Registration with College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • PSW’s - Personal Support Worker Certificate/Diploma
 
Certifications
  • Current CPR Certification
  • LEAP (Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative Care) or willingness to obtain within 1 year of employment
 
Experience
  • 1-year experience working in hospice palliative or long-term care is preferred
 
Skills
  • Demonstrate a patient-focused approach to care and ability to work with families/caregivers
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Physical ability and stamina to provide personal and clinical care to residents throughout an 8-hour shift
  • Possess excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • Bilingualism in both official languages is an asset
