Who we are
Hospice Care Ottawa is the new name of the organization that was formed as of January 2013, from the Hospice at May Court and Friends of Hospice Ottawa. We are a community-based charitable organization offering services for clients and their loved ones to experience end-of-life care in a supportive and peaceful setting, surrounded by care that reflects as closely as possible a comfortable home environment.
Providing dignity and comfort is the focus of our care. Our services are provided at no charge. Delivery of these services is made possible through the support of a small dedicated staff and over 1,000 volunteers from the Ottawa community. Our services meet the highest care standards in a setting that is comfortable.
All of our programs and services are provided at no charge. We receive a portion of our funding from the Champlain LHIN and rely on community support to raise the rest of the dollars required that enable us to continue offering end-of-life support to over 1,400 individuals every year through our Community Hospice Care programs, Residential Hospice Care, Bereavement Care and Caregiver programs.
Thank you to the Algonquin College Broadcasting students; Victoria Molinski, Matthew Haughn and Alexander Kaldeway for producing our Hospice Care Ottawa video.
