Henryka Helena (Heni) Nadel
Heni Nadel moved to Ottawa in the mid 1970’s and since then has been a volunteer and member of the board of several NGO’s with a focus on various issues in women’s health. She’s been a member of the board of Hospice at May court since 2007. She now sits on the Hospice Care Ottawa board. She began her working life in the field of alternative education and after graduate school taught at Algonquin College in Health Sciences and then transitioned to working in the area of Employee Assistance Counselling. Since 2000 she’s been the national manager of the Employee and Organization Assistance Program for the federal department of Public Works and Government Services Canada. She sits on two interdepartmental committees dealing with well-being and mental health issues. She’s received a number of volunteer and workplace awards. In November 2012 Heni was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
